WWW Wednesday

Holy moly, I cannot believe I haven’t done one of these since January :-0 As stated in our last post, I am trying to make a conscious effort to get back on track with our blog. Life kind of took over and I am happy to be back!

I am so excited to share what I have been reading and give ya’ll a heads up on what I am reading next 🙂

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam on Taking on a World of Words. If you want to join in on the fun, be sure to tag the original post in the link above. Or feel free to answer the questions in the comment section below! And please feel free to leave your link in the comments as well.

What are the three Ws:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

Thi got a little carried away on Netgalley, and like any good friend, I decided to take on the adventure with her. I really should have said no, but here we are! So I am currently reading two romance arcs and I really am pretty excited about both of them (Anchored Hearts and Happy Endings)

I have also be in a historical fiction mood lately and have really been enjoying them on audio. So I am very excited to continue listening to The Last Bookshop in London.

Recently Finished

A Court of Silver Flames, not much more to say other than I love this series and this book was no exception 😉

As I said, I have been in the historical fiction mood, so I listened to The Rose Code. This was an excellent audiobook and a great story. I would definitely recommend.

Lore was a buddy read and it was truly fantastic! It was such a unique take on Greek Mythology and was really well written.

Firekeeper’s Daughter might delve into murder, and is marketed as a mystery, it is so much more. This story celebrates Ojibwe tradition, the love of family and community, and the strength to survive.

Lastly, The Yellow Wife. I finished this book a few days ago and I really still don’t have words for this book. It is a full 5 billion stars and something I will forever recommend.

What’s Next?

As previously stated, Netgalley should be blocked on our phones and computers… My next reads are three Netgalley arcs (Arsenic and Adobo, It Had to Be You, and Cool for the Summer)

Have you read any of these books on my list? What are you currently reading or planning to read? Lets have a chat down in the comments! Also, feel free to post your WWW Wednesday links 🙂

As always, thank you so much for supporting our blog. We appreciate all the love and support!

January 20, 2021

Can you believe that we are getting to the end of January already?! Where has the time gone? I want to welcome everyone back for another installment of WWW Wednesday. So far I have kept up with this weekly meme, so here’s to hoping that continues!

I am almost done with House of Dragons and I have got to say I am really enjoying it. I wasn’t really sure what to expect coming in, but it has held my attention and I absolutely love getting such an in-depth look at all these unique characters. I cannot wait for my book club meeting on Friday to discuss!

Technically speaking I have started The Ex Talk, but I am really on like page 3 so I cannot provide much insight just yet. However, I am still really stoked to get into this one and hope it lives up to the hype!

Recently Finished

This week I finished two books!! Woot Woot 🙂

I absolutely adored Much Ado About You. This was a lovely rom com, that just makes me want to pack up and move to England to run a bookstore. Check out my full, non spoiler review here.

I also finished up Everywhere You Don’t Belong for a blog tour with Thi. This was a great coming of age story set in South Shore Chicago, with a bunch of diverse characters. It tackled many issues on race, family, friendship, and love. Check out our full, non spoiler review here.

What’s Next?

Love is a Revolution the last book on my planned TBR for the month of January. It is also the last arc that I have to read for a little while and maybe I can start tackling books that I physically own. And lastly, it is the last buddy read I have with Thi for the month!

Have you read any of these books on my list? What are you currently reading or planning to read? Lets have a chat down in the comments!

WWW Wednesday

January 13, 2021

Welp, at least it looks like I am starting this year off right. I have been able to do two of these WWW Wednesday posts in a row! How long can I keep the streak alive? 😛

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam on Taking on a World of Words. If you want to join in on the fun, be sure to tag the original post in the link above. Or feel free to answer the questions in the comment section below! And please feel free to leave your link in the comments as well.

Currently Reading

I am currently working on finishing up my eArc of Much Ado About You. I am really enjoying it so far and I am loving all the rom coms I am fitting into my reading this month! Keep a look out for a full review soon.

I have not made it very far into Everywhere You Don’t Belong. Thi and I are reading this for a blog tour, so we should have our thoughts up real soon about this one!

Recently Finished

After I got over the initial thought of this being a fantasy book based off the cover, I really got into this book. This was a really great YA mystery that also left me with a lot of questions at the end. Luckily book two comes out later this year and I am hoping it will have all the answers. I would definitely recommend!

What’s Next?

Thi and I have these last two books to wrap up our buddy reading for the month. We didn’t realize how many arcs we had to accomplish this month, but I think we have done well so far.

The Ex Talk is one of our highly anticipated arc reads for this month. Thi read Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon and absolutely loved it. So we knew we really wanted to check out her next book ASAP. You can check out Thi’s full review of Today Tonight Tomorrow here.

I was hoping to have already started House of Dragons last week, but I took a few days off from reading and never got around to it. I have been really looking forward to starting this one, so hopefully I can tackle it and have it done by the time my local book club meets to discuss.

Happy New Year everyone! I am so excited to bring the first WWW Wednesday of the year.

I have made a goal to post more regularly on the blog and I am going to do my very best to succeed! So without further ado, lets get into it!

The Facebook group that I help admin selected The Inheritance Games as our monthly discussion pick. I am a little over halfway and I am really enjoying this one so far. Originally I thought this book was a fantasy, maybe because of the cover, but this is more of a YA mystery.

Recently Finished

Both of these books were arc buddy reads that Thi and I read together.

Love, Almost was a pretty quick read that deals with love, grief, and family. We did not do a full review for this book, but you can see both of our thoughts on our IG, here and here.

My most recent finished read was Shipped. Thi and I will be working on a review to post on the blog shortly. Just know that I would recommend this for a quick and fun rom com!

What’s Next?

Thi and I are apparently doing a lot of buddy reads together this month, and I am here for it!

First up, we are reading Everywhere You Don’t Belong for a blog tour on January 18th.

Then it just so happens that my local book club picked House of Dragons and Thi also wanted to read it, so she will just become an honorary member of my book club!

December 16, 2020

Is Christmas really next week?!? Where has the month gone? I have been having an excellent reading month and feel like I have finally gotten into a groove.

So for today, I bring you another edition of WWW Wednesday!

As you can see I am still working my way through The Invisible Life of Addie Larue. I am savoring this book in a slow read because I really do not want this book to ever end. It is truly a beautiful book!

I am just about done with King of the Rising, which is the final book in the Islands of Blood and Storm Duology. It is my local book club pick and I am really happy we chose this series to read. I would definitely recommend.

Oh my, where do I begin with Kingdom of Ash. I am so damn excited to see how this series wraps up, but if I am being honest I am sad to see it come to an end. If you have not read the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, do yourself a favor and give it a try!

Recently Finished

Speaking of the Throne of Glass series, I recently finished Tower of Dawn, which is book 6 in the series. While this particular book was not my favorite in the series, it was still really great. Maas’ writing is phenomenal and I still enjoyed this continuation of the series.

I absolutely adored The Tourist Attraction, but I really think I enjoyed Mistletoe and Mr. Right just a tad bit more. The Alaska setting is fantastic and I thought Lana and Rick’s story was beyond adorable!

If you are looking for a Hallmark movie in book form, look no further, Jingle Wars is the book for you. However, for people who do not like steamy romance, be warned this is definitely a steamy read!

What better way to bring in holidays than with two Christmas themed books! I cannot wait to read The Twelve Dates of Christmas and I’ll Be Home for Christmas in front of my Christmas tree with a cup of marshmallow loaded hot chocolate!

Have you read any of these books on my list? What are you currently reading or planning to read? Lets have a chat down in the comments!

What are the three Ws:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

I started The Invisible Life of Addie Larue last week and I cannot put into words how much I am in love with this book already. I am almost halfway through and it is a book I am trying to savor. I know for a fact it will end up at the top of my favorite list for this year and probably all time.

Technically speaking I have started Jingle Wars. I have only read the first chapter, but you have to start somewhere. I have a feeling this will be a light and fun Christmas read and have had it recommended by a few of my book friends, so I am excited to continue!

Lastly, I am currently working my way through the Throne of Glass series. I am just about halfway through Tower of Dawn and I am interested to see where the rest of this book leads us. It is a little differently paced than the rest of the series, but I am still loving Maas’ writing!

Recently Finished

As you can see it is officially rom com December for me!!! I absolutely love reading feel good, cute romances during the holiday season.

The Latinx representation in You Had Me at Hola was on point! I loved that there was a mix of Spanish and English throughout the book and those supporting characters, *chef’s kiss.* The romance story itself was a little too dramatic for my taste. Though if you are in the mood for a steamy soap opera, look no further.

Oh my, I am not really sure where to begin with The Two Lives of Lydia Bird. This was truly a beautifully written book on coping with grief and learning who you are along the way. I cried a few times, but that is to be expected. I cannot recommend this book enough!

I adore the majority of the Christina Lauren books that I read and Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating was no exception. This was such a cute, quick rom com that made me laugh out loud. It’s told in dual POVs, and I love Hazel and her crazy self!

My most recent book that I finished was The Tourist Attraction and man oh man does this just make me want to pack up and go visit Alaska. Zoey and Graham’s love story was quite enjoyable and I could not get enough of their witty banter!

What’s Next

Now that I have finished The Tourist Attraction, I am ready to head back to Moose Springs and dive straight into Mistletoe and Mr. Right!!

Since my local book club read Queen of the Conquered for November and King of the Rising just released last week, we are planning on finishing out this duology for our December meeting! I can’t wait to see what happens, because that ending had me needing to know!!

Have you read any of these books on my list? What are you currently reading or planning to read? Lets have a chat down in the comments!

WWW Wednesday

November 18, 2020

Welcome back for another episode of WWW Wednesday. I have given up trying to keep up with this meme and will just post it when I actually have books to talk about.

So without further ado, here is this week’s edition!

I am currently listening to the audiobook of Invisible Girl. I am generally a big fan of Lisa Jewell’s books. However, this one is a little slower for my taste. I am still interested to see where this book goes and hoping that the slow burn is worth it.

The Peculiar Fate of Holly Banks is an arc I am trying to tackle before its publication next week. I am buddy reading this with Thi and so far I am enjoying being back in the Village of Primm! This is such a fun series and if you haven’t read Holly Banks Full of Angst yet, you really need to get on it.

I have technically started Queen of the Conquered. I am only on page 20, but you have to start somewhere. I am really looking forward to this book and am still so obsessed with the cover!

Recently Finished

I finished The House in the Cerulean Sea three days ago and I still cannot come up with the correct words to describe my love for this book. This is my favorite read of the year. I had a hard time starting anything once I finished, because this book just made me feel so good. Everything about this book is truly amazing!

I was able to finish up the arc of The Camelot Betrayal last week and I really enjoyed this sequel to The Guinevere Deception. I will be impatiently waiting for the next book to come out. You can check out my full review here.

What’s Next?

I am trying to finish up the arc and my book club pick that I have to read this month so I can get to my most anticipated book of the year. I want to read this when I have nothing else going on, so I can give it my full attention. So hopefully next week I should be able to dive into The Invisible Life of Addie Larue!

Have you read any of these books on my list? What are you currently reading or planning to read? Lets have a chat down in the comments!

WWW Wednesday

November 11, 2020

Happy Wednesday book friends! We are back at it again with another WWW Wednesday.

I haven’t kept up with this one as much, but that is mainly because I have not been reading a lot the past week or so. I was a little too invested watching the election last week that I didn’t leave myself much time for reading.

The Camelot Betrayal released yesterday and I am just about finished with it. I received an e-ARC from Netgalley and just about finished it in time. I will post a full review shortly once I am done, but just know that it is an excellent sequel to The Guinevere Deception!

I am buddy reading The House in the Cerulean Sea and cannot be more excited to get into this book a bit more. I have heard such raving reviews for this one and after reading the first 4 chapters, I can start to see where the hype is coming from.

Recently Finished

As I said, last week was not a big reading week for me, so White Ivy was the only book that I was able to finish. It was another book I received from Netgalley, and also one that I would definitely recommend. You can see my full review of this book here.

What’s Next?

This month my local book club chose Queen of the Conquered. I have yet to read the synopsis on this book, but if what is inside is as beautiful as this cover than I cannot wait to dive in!

The Invisible Life of Addie Larue is one of my most anticipated reads of the entire year. I ordered the Owlcrate special edition box and not so patiently waited for it to arrive. Now that I have it, I am so excited to dive in and be immersed in Schwab’s beautiful writing!

Have you read any of these books on my list? What are you currently reading or planning to read this month? Lets have a chat down in the comments!

WWW Wednesday

October 21, 2020

We are back again with another episode of WWW Wednesday! I’m not really reading a lot this month, so there isn’t much to see on this list. However, it has been nice slowing down a bit and enjoying a little me time!

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam on Taking on a World of Words. If you want to join in on the fun, be sure to tag the original post in the link above. Or feel free to answer the questions in the comment section below! And please feel free to leave your link in the comments as well.

Currently Reading

I have finally started This Coven Won’t Break!! I have been saying it all month that I was going to read it and we have made it. To be fair, I have only read the first couple of chapters, but you have to start somewhere 😛

Love Your Life on the other hand I am a little over halfway through. It is my last Netgalley arc of the month and reads fairly quickly, so I should hopefully have it finished by tomorrow!

Recently Finished

Kingdom of the Wicked was such a pleasure to read and I cannot describe how excited I was to have gotten the chance to read this arc. It is the perfect October spooky read and I will recommend it to everyone. For my full review, click here.

What’s Next?

Another book that has been on my list all month is Beyond the Black Door. I have had such high hopes for my reading this month and it just hasn’t worked out. This one I will be tackling next though, or else I will have to skip my local book club meeting and that is not going to work for me!

I am also hoping to get a head start on another Netgalley arc I have that comes out Nov 3, White Ivy. I have been in the mood to find a good mystery/thriller, so hopefully this will be what I am looking for.

Have you read any of the books on my list? What are you currently reading or planning to read this month? Also, what are your October spooky read recommendations? Lets have a chat down below.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by our blog. We appreciate all the love and support!

WWW Wednesday

October 14, 2020

Watch out!! Two weeks in a row of doing this meme! No one is more shocked than me at this 😛

Even though I remembered and made time to do this blog post, I really have not read that many books this month. I have only completed one physical read and one audiobook. I have been taking a break and playing computer games that had been pushed to the back burner. Now that I have recharged, I am ready to dive into some good books that are on my TBR!

I started Kingdom of the Wicked yesterday and I am already about a quarter of the way through it. I received this eARC from Netgalley and have really been looking forward to diving in. I absolutely loved Kerri Maniscalco’s Stalking Jack the Ripper series and thought this would be a fun YA series from her and perfect for Spookotber!

Recently Finished

I listened to the audiobook of The Black Kids and I cannot recommend it enough, as the narration was really well done. This book brings to light many topics of race, privilege and class in a very accessible way. It is a YA book and would definitely be a good book for younger readers. However, as an adult, I thought this was an excellent book.
We have to walk around being perfect all the time just to be seen as human. Don’t you ever get tired of being a symbol? Don’t you ever just want to be human?”

What’s Next?

Welp, I am still crossing my fingers that I will be able to get to This Coven Won’t Break this month, because I have really been looking forward to that book. The problem is I have these two books that I have to read first!

Ya’ll might remember seeing Beyond the Black Door on last weeks WWW Wednesday’s list and I never got around to starting it. So here’s to hoping I start this one soon so I can finish it in time for my local book club meeting!

Love Your Life is another Netgalley arc on my list for this month that I am super excited about. I think I have read almost all of Sophie Kinsella’s books and she has yet to let me down!

Have you read any of the books on my list? What are you currently reading or planning to read this month? Also, what are your October spooky read recommendations? Lets have a chat down below.
