#WWW Wednesday

#WWW Wednesday: March 25, 2020

It is that time of the week again! I have been working from home for about a week and a half now and have had plenty of time to try and tackle my ever growing TBR pile.

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam on Taking on a World of Words. If you want to join in on the fun, be sure to tag the original post in the link above. Or feel free to answer the questions in the comment section below!

What are the three Ws:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

It may come as quite a surprise that I am currently only reading two books! I do a yearly re-read of Harry Potter, and this year is no exception! I decided this time around to read the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I just recently got this edition and it is absolutely GORGEOUS! For anyone who enjoys Harry Potter, these editions are a must! This week I have also started Havenfall and buddy reading it with Thi! I haven’t made it too far in, but so far it has a promising start!

Recently Finished

Since last Wednesday, I have completed FIVE books! To be fair, I started Salt to the Sea at the beginning of the month and finally finished it up yesterday. All I can say is, if you haven’t read any of Ruta Sepetys’ books, I highly suggest you do. This is my second novel by her and I can honestly say she has become one of my favorite historical fiction authors. She gives voices to many events in history that should never be forgotten.

Can we stop and talk about Beartown for a moment? This book is likely to end up in my top ten pile for 2020. I really don’t have adequate words to describe my love for this book. It is such a well written book that tugs at your heartstrings and drags you into this small hockey town in the woods.

I did end up finishing Little Fires Everywhere just in time to check out the show! I binged watched the first three episodes and ready to keep going. The book was really well done and the tv show adaptation so far is living up to the hype.

Sadie was a book I completed on audio and I cannot recommend that format enough for this book. Since this book is written in part podcast form, the audiobook felt like I was really listening in on a true crime podcast. It is a unique experience and one I really enjoyed!

Lastly, I finished up a buddy read of The Downstairs Girl with some book friends and it was quite the read. I have not read many historical fictions written in Atlanta in the 1890s. I loved the writing style and found the story to be uniquely entertaining.

All in all, I highly recommend all five books! I had a very good reading week and here’s to hoping the trend continues!

What’s Next?

Ok, I know that Stalking Jack the Ripper was on my What’s Next from last Wednesday, and I had all intentions of starting it. This will be the week that I get it done! Darling Rose Gold and The Glass Hotel are both newly released books that I have been looking forward to and can’t wait to see if they live up to all of their hype!

As always, thanks for stopping by our blog! Please feel free to join in on the fun of WWW Wednesday on your own blog and leave a link for it so we can check it out, or comment your answers down below!

    1. Thank you! I’ve kept telling myself I’m going to read Stalking Jack the Ripper, but I finally have to do it for a buddy read! No more excuses 😂 Salt to the Sea was fantastic, I highly recommend it and any other Rita Sepetys novels!
